Talking about the first song ‘Lose You to Love Me’ is an emotional number, in which Selena Gomez appeared to lament the end of an ultimately toxic relationship at her headspace over the last year.
Ahead of the song’s release, Selena wrote on Vevo that the song was about several life events. “This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album,” she said. “I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.”
Selena Gomez fans are speculating that this song is about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, but Selena said nothing directly about it.
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber had a long relationship in the spotlight. The couple quit their relationship in March 2018 after a fight caused them to split up. It seems like Selena’s old relationship is still bothering her.
Many Selena fans are heartbroken by these lyrics, saying they prove that Justin probably didn’t treat Selena that well, but she stuck with him until, eventually, he left her for Hailey.
