Music director and actor Himesh Reshammiya gives a railway station singer Ranu Mondal her very first break to sing a song in his upcoming movie ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’.

Recently, a video went viral in which a lady can be seen singing Lata Mangeshkar’s song Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai at the Ranaghat station in West Bengal. later lady is identified as Ranu Mondal who sings at railway stations for earnings.

After the video went viral, Ranu got a call from the reality show Superstar singer as a participant. Ranu Mondal performed so well on the show that it convinced singer Himesh Reshammiya, who is one of the judges to offer her a song in his upcoming movie Happy Hardy and Heer.

Well, Himesh kept his promise and recorded a song with Ranu Mondal for his upcoming film.

The musician shared a short video of it on social media.



In the short video, Renu Mondal is seen recording the song in her melodious voice, titled Teri Meri Kahaani, in Himesh’s presence. The musician also encourages her as she sings with her heart and soul.

Singer captioned it as “Recorded Teri meri Kahani my new song from happy hardy and heer with the very talented Ranu Mondal who has a divine voice, all your our dreams can come true if we have the courage to peruse them, a positive attitude can really make dreams come true, thanks for all your love and support.”

Social media users are also praising her talent and giving her good wishes.

Ranu Mondal has been getting calls from various places to perform. Ranu Mondal’s story has been nothing less than a fairytale so far, as things have completely changed for her, bringing her life onto a whole new trajectory. A journey from a railway station singer to a Bollywood singer.




The 26-year-old engineer Atindra Chakraborty, who filmed Mondal’s fate-changing video, told  “It was a chance encounter. I was hanging out with my friends at a tea stall on platform No 6. A Rafi song was playing in the radio aloud. Suddenly I heard the lady humming to the tune, as she sat on the platform floor. I asked her if she could sing something for us.”

Chakraborty posted a two-minute clip from Mondal’s hour of singing on Facebook on July 23.
