Javed Akhtar celebrates his 75th birthday, hosted a retro theme Bollywood birthday party
Lyricist, writer, a recipient of the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, poet, and five National Film Awards winner Javed Akhtar will turn a year older tomorrow and for the same, he has hosted a birthday bash at his residence in Mumbai.
And the theme for his 75th birthday party is Bollywood retro night.
Many Bollywood celebs attended the birthday bash and they also adhered to the retro look. Celebs like Manish Malhotra, Boney Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Satish Kaushik, Kriti Sanon, Anil Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Shabana Azmi, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Zoya Akhtar Urmila Matondkar, Nandita Das, and many others in attendance.
Javed Akhtar wore a Red shirt with white polka dots, white pants, matching shoes and a classic white hat that completed his birthday look. His wife Shabana, can be seen twinning with her husband as she wore a red dress with white polka dots with a denim jacket over it and a knotted headband gave an additional touch to her 70s look!
Asked Javed Akhtar what his kids had gifted him on his birthday, he said: “He (Farhan) has gifted me a really nice brown watch, so whenever I wear a brown kurta then I wear that watch. Zoya also gifts me things whenever she returns from her international trips but I feel she is the biggest gift of mine. What else I can ask for?”
Javed Akhtar also worked as a screenplay writer and gave us movies like ‘Deewar’, ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Sholay’. Later he left screenplay writing and became a lyricist and a poet! We cannot forget his poetry in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
