Veteran actress Shabana Azmi meets a near-fatal accident while she was traveling to Khandala with her husband Javed Akhtar. The actress got brutally injured and is admitted to a hospital in Mumbai.
According to sources Shabana Azmi’s car met with an accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Saturday afternoon. the incident occurred around 4 p.m. Shabana Azmi was in an SUV driven by her chauffeur.
Inspector Vishwajeet Kaigade of Khalapur police station said: “The driver tried to overtake a truck in front from the wrong side, using the lane on the far left next to the shoulder and ended up ramming into the truck.” Fir lodged against Shabana Azmi’s driver for rash driving.
While the driver did not sustain any injuries due to the car’s airbag, Ms. Azmi sustained several injuries. Her car was followed by her husband Javed Akhtar. He immediately stopped his car asked for help then she was rushed to the MGM Hospital in Kamothe.
Doctors at the MGM Hospital said Ms. Azmi had suffered whiplash injuries due to the collision. Later in the evening, she was shifted to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri. where she is currently in the ICU.
Recently Shabana Azmi was seen in her husband’s 75th birthday in the retro look. We hope for her quick recovery.
